Pengukuran Mandiri Literasi dan Numerasi PSPK (PEMANTIK) is a literacy and numeracy assessment platform designed to support effective literacy and numeracy practices based on assessment results. The PEMANTIK platform is intended for children aged 6–12 years and is designed to help teachers, schools, communities, organizations, and education stakeholders access assessment tools that are easy to use, provide rapid feedback, and accurately identify children’s literacy and numeracy competencies.
As a web-based assessment platform, PEMANTIK has been implemented in 529 schools and has engaged more than 36,000 students across 155 cities and regencies in Indonesia. PEMANTIK has been utilized by a wide range of partners, including education foundations, NGOs, local governments, and teacher learning communities.
The PEMANTIK framework is designed to assess children’s literacy and numeracy abilities from the earliest foundational stages, particularly for children aged 6–12 years. This approach supports children’s learning needs by ensuring instruction is aligned with their developmental stages and individual learning needs.
PEMANTIK contributes to strengthening community-based interventions for both formal and non-formal education settings. Through LDB, PEMANTIK is expected to become part of data-driven intervention planning, including complementing education report cards and regional literacy and numeracy indices.
The PEMANTIK platform is accessible to everyone. This accessibility enables communities, teachers, and parents to easily conduct assessments, reflect on the results, and design effective literacy and numeracy learning practices. Expanding access is a key strategy to ensure that every child receives learning support aligned with their literacy and numeracy levels.
PEMANTIK provides opportunities for researchers interested in literacy and numeracy measurement or action research in foundational reading and numeracy to utilize, analyze, and generate studies based on data available through the PEMANTIK platform.
The PEMANTIK framework and assessment items are developed in collaboration with experts and practitioners in literacy and numeracy. Its development is carried out with long-term partners through psychometric studies, and the iterative and collaborative refinement of assessment content and the platform.
PEMANTIK results are used as a basis for reflection to support a learning ecosystem that is aligned with children’s literacy and numeracy achievement levels.
PEMANTIK facilitates communities that implement literacy and numeracy interventions by providing access to a community dashboard and bulk account creation, enabling communities to independently lead and manage the assessment process.
