PSPK Policy Brief – The PPDB Controversy, Capacity Shortages, and Policy Options

This edition of Kilas Kebijakan aims to formulate policy options at the regional level as a consequence of the State’s commitment to providing accessible and quality education for all Indonesian children through the Student Admission Policy (PPDB). The article focuses specifically on the junior secondary (SMP) and senior secondary (SMA) levels; therefore, issues related to PPDB at the primary school (SD) level are not discussed. It should also be noted that the term “school” in this article broadly refers to all forms of formal education, including Madrasah.
