Policy Brief: Increasing Participation: Opportunities for Developing the PPDB Bersama Scheme in DKI Jakarta

The principle of Complete and Quality Education serves as a cornerstone of education policy in DKI Jakarta. Through the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office, this commitment is pursued through an innovative initiative known as PPDB Bersama—a student admissions scheme that extends beyond public schools to include selected private schools.

Beyond expanding access, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta also provides education subsidies for students admitted through this pathway. This initiative creates new opportunities to broaden access to education while fostering collaboration between public and private education providers. How, then, can PPDB Bersama be further developed to strengthen participation and promote more equitable access to education in DKI Jakarta?
